Across the room inside the old adobe where I live and work, the kiva (kee-vah) fireplace evokes centuries of Southwestern history and culture. The fireplace and chimney are made of the same adobe and plaster as the walls, possible contemporaneous, which would be sometime in the 1890s. I used to use the kiva for heating and it did a good job once the surrounding mass warmed up. It also adds a sculptural element to room itself. The symbolism all around is powerful. The Cochiti drum has a story too and there's another NFT for that. That's a wallaby pelt (!) in the foreground. "KEE-VAH!" 4032 x 3024, 300 ppi.

NEW MEXICO MY HEART collection image

New Mexico belongs to God and we just pass on through. As I once wrote, "The thing was though, they'd done it, the entire Taos murder trip, yet both of them were still together, healthy, and the love danced in her eyes." Kathy & I moved from Maryland to Taos County in 1999. The landing was a shock but we gave it all we had. New Mexico is never easy but stupendous. The story's in the photographs & their descriptions. JHFARR.ART is relevant. NFTs are 1/1s. - JHF
