'The Field of Rooms' is a piece that spatially expresses the solidarity spirit of Yeon Deung Hoe, a traditional Korean Lotus Lantern Festival. Each room, containing the unique aspects of people's lives, is all connected to form one large collective space. There are 33 rooms in total because, in Buddhism, the number 33 represents the universal space in which all people exist. Also, the rooms are made up of colors that reinterpret the traditional five colors of the festival with the 80s Pop-art sensibility.
