No food for lazy man, a popular saying amongst Nigerians, is a statement that’s self explanatory. As a young person living in Lagos, Nigeria, you hear it being said multiple times, from parents, older ones, school teachers, even religious leaders. The idea that you need to be hardworking to be a successful person has always been imbedded in us which is one of the reasons why most Nigerians anywhere they find themselves are always up and doing, although some have succeeded in changing the way the world views Nigerians due to their malicious and fraudulent acts.
This is an iPhonographed documentary collection of hardworking Nigerians in a marketplace found in an area called Agege in the city of Lagos. The aim of the collection is to countervail the spreading notion that all Nigerians are lazy persons and fraudsters by capturing them doing what they do everyday to earn a just living, clearing the stereotype one picture at a time.
