A reflection of humans in nature, when we are faced with nothing, we become aware of ourselves and our presence in space.

This installation piece seeks to challenge the perception of space and scale in a location.

“The relation between what we see and what we know is never settled. Each evening we see the sun set. We know that the earth is turning away from it. Yet the knowledge, the explanation, never quite fits the sight.” ― John Berger, Ways of Seeing

The design behind Dune focuses on a mirrored object in a vast landscape who is intending to camouflage itself within. A reflection of humans in nature, when we are faced with nothing, we become aware of ourselves and our presence in space. The void in the centre of the cube traversing its body plays an important part as its the sun's telescope in a way, at specific times of the day, the sun transforms the way we see the cube and its internal void.

The dunes that inspired this work are located at Desierto de Altar, Sonora, Mexico. Which is where I am originally from.
