LABORATORY FOR ARTS AND CRAFTS
In the latter half of the 19th century, William Morris foresaw a time when art and life would once again be in accord. Beyond globalization, that future can final- ly emerge. HIRUME is a laboratory where the skills and motifs of traditional arts are brought into contact with contemporary design, art, and fashion, explor- ing the reactions that occur between them. HIRUME supports the training of craftspeople to preserve tra- ditional arts and skills. Themonozukuri philosophy of Japanese craftsmanship has the ancient, the mod- ern, and the future coursing through its veins. HIRUME communicates its potency to the world.

The moment that an NFT guarantees the uniqueness of a piece of data, the data exists — the NFT has given existence to the data. This exhibition attempts to create SIZELESS TWINs of garments that have conventionally depended on physicality. By creating digital twins, freed from size restrictions, the exhibition aims to question the very concept of physicality in the real world.
