This is based on my previous work (apollonian mandelbrot) which packs circles into the space available, which I adapted to insert hearts instead.

I created the rose in Inkscape using a selection of flat colours for the leaves, petals, and background. This was exported as a high resolution file, then imported into Processing where it was rendered with the hearts overnight.
