I composited many shining aspects of the jewel beetle in the same frame, like when Picasso drew the sides and front of the woman at the same time with the cubism technique.
These images, titled "Cubistic Biota," were created using the slit-scan technique. I utilized insects and plants as my subjects and distorted their outlines to produce a fresh interpretation of nature's creations.
"Cubistic Biota: Buprestidae," features a compilation of various dazzling elements of the jewel beetle in a single frame, much like Picasso's use of cubism in drawing the sides and front of a woman simultaneously.
