This week Iโ€™m in Edmonton for work and so Iโ€™m making โ€œEdmontonadeโ€ ๐Ÿ˜‰ Some friends were going to the Edmonton/Calgary game on Saturday and so we turned it into a weekend road trip attached to my stay here. This was our first time having someone join us on our tour of Alberta grain elevators. Iโ€™m glad that they were crazy enough to share in this with my wife and I. I really like the setting surrounding this grain elevator as itโ€™s been preserved on someoneโ€™s small private farm complete with a nice white fence and stunning red barn.

Sunny 16 says for sunny days, this should be f16 @ 1/ISO, which this is when accounting for f8 setting. Good olโ€™ Sunny 16 ๐Ÿ˜€

This makes 90 locations for my Tour of Alberta Wooden Grain Elevators. I think I might actually make it to 100 and beyond someday. Thanks to anyone looking!

99 Wooden Grain Elevators of Alberta collection image

Scenic photos of various historic wooden grain elevators found in Alberta that were a part of daily life in early Western Canada. I had travelled to these locations taking photos and experiencing the small towns that they were a part of. Wooden grain elevators were once common across the prairie provinces, but are now rather scarce as they have largely been replaced by large concrete grain terminals. Grain elevators were the heart of their communities and are slowly disappearing due to age, fire and neglect. Some of the grain elevators shown have already burnt down or were demolished.
