Solitude

The story behind this photograph begins when I booked a one-way trip to Europe to see a friend. Unfortunately, I was left to travel alone when my friend bailed last minute. I was feeling lonely and disappointed. I tried to be optimistic and wanted to push myself to take full advantage of traveling solo. I did a bit of research and discovered that Spain had a pink lake. I had dreamt of pink lakes for years and I finally found one! Without any further thought, I booked my bus to Torrevieja. A few days later, I arrived at the lake and to my surprise, I was the only one there. I spent the entire day just sitting by this lake and taking in its beauty. My heart was so full on this day. This is the moment I truly learned that I love my alone time and what it meant to travel solo. No one to tell me that we had to go or distract me from taking in this moment. This was hands down, my favourite memory of Spain.
