‘BODA BODA’ is a term that is widely used in East Afrika to refer to bicycle and motorcycle taxis.

The term is believed to have originated from the Kenya-Uganda border town of Malaba. It is an adaptation of the English words “border, border” shouted by their cyclists beckoning passengers towards the border station.

Being a common form of transport in the Afrikan continent, you can’t walk even a single minute without coming across one.

At some point during the pandemic, I managed to snap this motorcycle Boda Boda upcountry and it is one of those pieces that is so nostalgic to me.
