Making music has always been such a heavily personal thing for me. I started as a kid in Chicago just making beats in my bedroom at my parents house then met the Louis The Child guys, they were coming up at the same time as me, and we got a studio together and that really helped me get a foot in the door in the EDM scene. I wasn’t sure if the music thing was for real until I saw on Twitter that this DJ group Zeds Dead played one of my songs on a massive stage at a huge festival which blew my mind because it was a song I made in my bedroom at my parents house. That made me feel like maybe I could really do this for a living and that’s kind of when I became super committed to the whole thing. Working on whatever projects I or the Louis guys had going on in the same studio really drove us to level each other up, it was pretty foundational for me and it’s probably the reason why I like to evolve my sound so much. I like blending genres or artists that might not seem like they’d make sense together which is kind of what I’m trying to do with this new project coming out.

I want to continue this trend of pushing myself to evolve musically so working with Sound.xyz for this new track Midnight Blue is actually super exciting. I think it would be pretty dumb not to explore web3 and the NFT scene, I think it’s the future of the industry. Midnight Blue is the perfect track to debut with as well because it really showcases that unique and unexpected genre-blend that I try to constantly push the limits of. On top of that, I also play with rhythm and tempo a little more towards the end of the track which is something that I want to start to showcase a little more because it just adds one more element to the mix. This is a first for me so I’m really stoked to see how the track fits into Sound.xyz's platform–I think folding NFTs into the music industry opens up a lot of possibilities for artists too, so overall I'm really excited to work with them.
