Listed by ARTNET in the top 30 most influential and praised street artists in the world, Maupal (Mauro Pallotta, Rome 1972) has grown up in the unique city of Rome, Italy which - being a centre of both politics and religion - has shaped his art. Maupal has experimented different styles and media; his initial art-works have used every day-life objects giving them a new artistic meaning. After a series of successful solo exhibitions in Rome, London and Miami, in 2014 Maupal has switched his focus to street art. Maupal targets political, social and humanitarian themes and brings them to the center of the stage using satire and irony to share his views. His first street work, Super Pope – showing Pope Francis as a possible symbol of modernization within the Catholic Church – has become viral obtaining an unprecedented success being praised by critics and admirers worldwide. His art-works -after being displayed on the walls of major cities - are exposed in galleries in Rome and London.
