Trust is the third emotion of the Eight Primary Emotions, the classical collection of eros. The Eight Primary Emotions is based on psychologist Robert Plutchik's emotion wheel. According to Plutchik's Theory of Emotion, we have eight primary emotions, categorised in four pairs of polar opposites: joy-sadness, trust-disgust, fear-anger, surprise-anticipation. These four pairs of
emotions are categorised by their triggered physiological reactions due to our psycho-evolutionary origins.
The ancient god of love and desire, Eros, embodies our collective emotions as humanity. eros is a generative art collection based on several scientific publications in human-computer interaction and data visualisation, which has been presented at IEEE VIS conference 2020, Mobile HCI 2020, as well as the CryptoValley Conference 2021. The visualisation system uses swarming behaviour observed in nature to visualise the eight primary emotions based on Robert Plutchik’s Theory of Emotion which included: joy-sadness, trust-disgust, fear-anger, surprise-anticipation.
