I like violence in films, in art, in my dreams. Better said, the contradiction of violence and tenderness. So the process of painting for me is like a slaughter. And this slaughter is a liberation, a being faster than fear, than thoughts, than inhibitions. It takes this physical force of overcoming, of speed. And then again, I stroke my images into being. There must always be both in it: gentleness and overpowering. My most recent series "Female Obsession" deals with the taboo subject (at least that's how I encountered it) of female desire, female greed, which for me is exclusively positive: a life-affirming, advancing, conquering, simultaneously creating and destructive force.
"Female Obsession" reflects and accompanies an intense phase of personal transformation, throwing myself into the trenches with the request, the plea for bruises, for wounds, in order to create myself anew in turn like a sculptress slaughtering out of what surrounds me.
