Always inspired by the notion of beauty, the concept of this piece is the ultimate trip – the idea of something of remarkable splendour, the trip to find it and the moment of revelation.
There is a familiar irony in the sight of the group of people that are gathered at the crater’s edge – in the middle of nowhere.
This artwork was created with charcoal and digital collage.
Deanne’s artwork is inspired by nature, utopia, space, and being, often distorting realistic representation into fantasy. The ‘Always’ collection represents dreams and illusions – familiarity grounds the magical universe created; a rainbow crater waterfall, a dreamy self-portrait, love and desire projected with glittery lips that sparkle like Dorothy’s red slippers.
