The weather in the Faroes has been extreme to say the least. On last night’s hike, we got soaked to the bone in a thunderstorm and had to wade through knee deep mud for hours. All of the clothes I have with me are destroyed, so I have to wear damp gear caked with mud.

But all I can think about is how I get to pay witness to incredibly remote, extremely beautiful places like this…on a Tuesday. I’m no longer behind a desk in an office, going through the same motions day after day. Instead, I’m experiencing and capturing all this planet has to offer. And nothing can take away the joy that comes with this freedom.

Luck was on my side today. The clouds finally parted right at sunset, so I pulled over to the side of the road and sent the drone out as far as it would go. Out over the ocean, I managed to capture this island with jagged peaks, surrounded by seaside cliffs.

What a feeling it is to know you’re living the life you always wanted.
