When I first started making this art. I had an idea of the image I wanted to come across, but I had no Idea where it would take me. As I continued on the piece, I realized how deeply close this was to my heart. I've lost three of my best friends to drug overdose in the last ten years. This piece to me represents the struggle of those friends, one of those in the end became my brother in law. The pain, the addiction, the hurt, the shame the hopelessness is all gone. Set free into the light and the color. Sitting next to the one who loves them most. It's so hard to let people go, but in the end I am so happy that they are free of the chains that bound them on earth. The darkness they felt, Set free. R.I.P Brother.
