Narsimha or Narasimha is a half-human and half-lion form of Lord Vishnu, one of the principal deities in Hinduism. According to Hindu mythology, Narsimha appeared to protect his devotee Prahlada from his demon father Hiranyakashipu. Narsimha is often depicted with a human-like torso and lower body, but with the head and claws of a lion. He is regarded as a fierce protector and destroyer of evil forces.
