Some beautiful soft morning light from my first ever solo overnight hiking trip in the central mountains of Vancouver Island. I remember waking up that morning exhausted, cold, and in pain after a terrible night sleeping in my tent. I probably woke up ten times during the night due to my uncomfortable mat and paranoia of wild animals. My arm was in pain from laying on it all night and my knee was also giving me issues from injuring it on the hike up. And on top of that, it was so chilly outside that I just wasn't motivated to get out of my tent. But I knew that the views would be worth it, so I bundled up in all the layers that I packed and got out of the tent. The views were just incredible, and as soon as I caught sight of the peaks I could already tell that the alpenglow was going to come through in full swing. I came down to my favorite composition that I discovered the night before and enjoyed a beautiful sunrise in solitude. It was well worth enduring the cold night up there. That morning was an experience that I won't soon forget and the beginning of many more memories in the mountains that would soon follow.
