Phos Forest Wilderness Preserve is a densely forested parcel of land that hugs the western coast of Knobnot Kingdom and spans just under 35 miles at its widest point. This enchanted forest is heavily protected by the Nester Wilderness Guild as a sacred place unlike any other in the world; as such only a small amount of lucky campers are allowed access to the park within a year. It is a special place that is highly reactive to the cycles of the moon and sun. Throughout the day, all plant life in the forest remains shriveled up and void of color, while most animals stay hidden away sleeping. When the sun is up in Phos Forest, it appears to the uninitiated to be a truly gray and uninspired place. However, once the sun sets, some 600 recorded species of phosphorescent plants and animals burst into activity and brilliant glowing light - seemingly coming to life in a matter of minutes. The park itself is very much a place for the nocturnally inclined, and is noticeably more alive at night. Glowing birds of all shapes and sizes sing while leaving their nests to socialize in massive luminescent flocks. Schools of blue blinking minnows come out to feed on fireflies in the streams and creek beds. Alien plants found only in this forest open up to release thousands of phosphorescent spores (mostly harmless to campers) that drift like glowing clouds up past the forest canopy into the night air. It is a true spectacle to behold and seriously worth the time and effort to visit next time you are camping in Knobnot Kingdom!
