Bomb Story: For every design and collaboration successfully executed by The Hundreds, there are a handful of alternatives and pitches that fell through. Some Adam Bombs go all the way to the final stages of the filtration process but are ultimately cut. The reasoning is all over the place: we believed in it, but not enough of our stockists bought into it. Sometimes, it's just that timing is off and the design fails to meet the climate criteria. Regardless, some bombs eventually make their way through but many are often trapped in purgatory. This is one of the lucky drafts to see the light of day. The wood grain was inspired by a San Diego-based design collective and brand that Bobby and Ben admired before they even started The Hundreds.| Background Story: In 2014, The Hundreds Design team climbed into a van and hauled off on an inspiration road trip to New Mexico. We stayed in an isolated desert house and every night, watched the stars coagulate into constellations above Santa Fe. The local art scene, the food, and the ornate design all contributed to this idea of building a unique constellation pattern for our cut-n-sew pieces, ranging from button-up wovens to headwear.
