My favourite moment to photograph is during blue hour or also known as the twilight period. My favourite building to photograph would be the ADAM tower or also known as the Amsterdam Lookout. I often combine these two and I always challenge myself to try and find a new angle, perspective, or composition when photographing this subject. That's not always easy since I've shot a dozen different angles already, but on the day that I made this photo, I succeeded in both finding a new angle and creating a more compressed image of the subject that I had photographed so many times before already. Adding to this image is also the alignment with the moon. Something I waited for about an hour for it to line up perfectly. Patience pays off. Not many people would know how to find this location and get a shot from this side of the tower. You're actually looking at the backside of it and in order to come here, you have to sneak through a few residential areas and make your way through 1 or 2 back alleys. It's a little search, but it's all worth it if you're going for it.

A little trivia on this building;

The ADAM tower was commissioned by Royal Shell and built-in 1966 by architect Arthur Staal. Back then it was commonly known as the Shell tower. In 2016 the tower got a huge renovation, was repurposed as a multifunctional tower, and renamed the ADAM tower.

Present-day the tower houses working offices, stores, nightlife establishments, and an observation deck with a rotating restaurant.

The ADAM tower is and will always be an iconic landmark for the Netherlands and Amsterdam in particular.
