In Salon d’art XR, a new form of navigation and curation in the virtual realm is proposed, which sits in between the immaterial and the material, the virtual and physical. The affinity.
Visual affinity is highlighted through machine learning image recognition based on point cloud computation while semantic affinity can be recognized by algorithmic logic so that a word cloud is formed to display the archival tags of related artwork for a better understanding of their provenance. The overall spatial strategy resembles a rhizome. Visitors continuously unravel the affinities of artwork, not only between works of a single artist but also between different artists.
