Boy with a Hoop Earring is a moment by the window that I discovered with my dear friend, Thomas. What I saw was clearly evocative of Girl with a Pearl Earring, which is a portrait of an idea rather than a specific person. In the same way, I feel like this image does the same thing by silhouetting Thomas's face.
