The drawings are created in an emulated version of the bitmap-oriented image editing program MacPaint, which came with Apple’s first Macintosh in 1984. The reduced number of pixels, which was available due to the limited hardware and software of the 80s, allows the underlying concept of raster graphics to be perceived easier than the high-resolution computer screens or even virtual reality glasses of today. This concept on which the grid method is based - the translation of a continuous range of values into a subdividing quantified system - has become the most significant thought pattern of the 20th century, culminating in the idea of a metaverse which is created with the help of discrete units, the binary code, to overlay the physical world with virtual realities.
