This is a writing made by my son, Malachi. He wrote this in May of 2021 during the pandemic just before his 16th birthday. He describes his perspective of childhood in this writing. We have collaborated to bring this to you in the way that Malachi felt represented his thoughts with a visual experience utilizing photography of the local playground in our town. I took several photographs using a night filter on my phone to bring the correct hue and shadowing to the experience. My name is Eddie, and i am Malachi's father. Included below is the complete writing from the above NFT for your reading pleasure.
"For those who search for true happiness. It is not something you make or something you give yourself, instead it was something you once had. It's not anything you can achieve again, because true happiness is ignorance, not ignorance that you give yourself by cutting off the rest of the world but ignorance of a child. A child doesn't have responsibilities or worries, they don't know or acknowledge family problems, but some children have their ignorance ripped away and can never truly experience it. When I am writing this I'm 15, going to turn 16 in a few days, and I'm still trying to hold onto ignorance, though it's fleeting because I have learned. Yes I hold on, 'just for a little longer" say, but I want more time for it. Time flew so fast and I learned things at a young age that I shouldn't, and that's when I started to lose my grip. Just for a little longer...." -Malachi
