Berenice once went to Ladakh in India where the main population mostly consists of Tibetan refugees. So, there at a height of 4,000 meters above sea level, she no longer felt that she was standing on a tiny piece of land. She felt like it was a small Tibet.

With faces, Ilaria Berenice expresses the infinite aspects that are within her and are reflected in the diversified humanity. She says that luckily, we are not all the same, everyone is unique in their individuality, even if people try to fit into everything that is defined as normal in order to feel accepted at social level.
She wants to enhance the diversity reflected in the faces that she has been creating and portraying for years in detail or in abstraction, and in which the viewer can also see their reflection.
