As a woman of color, a feminist in the truest sense of the word and a former teacher supporting and uplifting women, particularly women of color is incredibly important to me. The patriarchy feeds on telling women to be small, to be quiet, trying to divide us because there it has been made clear throughout history that some united are a force to be reckoned with. I used to be that very small, very quiet little girl, but now that I have found my voice I am more determined than ever to use it. This one is dedicated to all the women and girls!
Many of the pieces in this collection transpired in this past year whilst I was going through therapy. I was paired with a phenomenal art psychotherapist who helped me heal but also gifted me something else unexpectedly…art; in particular clay.
Some of the profits from this collection will be given to the Women and Girls Network in London so they can continue to do the tremendous work they do with women and girls who have survived gender based violence.
