Nowruz is the Persian-language term for the day of the Iranian New Year, also known as the Persian New Year. It begins on the spring equinox and marks the beginning of Farvardin, the first month of the Solar Hijri calendar (an Iranian calendar used officially in Iran and Afghanistan). The day is celebrated worldwide by various ethnolinguistic groups and falls on or around the date of 21 March on the Gregorian calendar.

The day of Nowruz has its origins in the Iranian religion of Zoroastrianism and is thus rooted in the traditions of the Iranian peoples; however, it has been celebrated by diverse communities for over 3,000 years in Western Asia, Central Asia, the Caucasus, the Black Sea Basin, the Balkans, and South Asia.

Iranian New Year starts from the first day of spring. There is an Iranian proverb which says: How good the spring is shows how good he year will be. (In English, there is an equivalent proverb that says: April and May are the keys of the year) In many parts of Iran, before the start of the new year, some people play musical instruments in the streets to welcome the new year, such as the Sorna instrument.

Due to US sanctions and other things, the economic situation of the Iranian people is getting worse and worse every year.

In this piece, I have shown that someone is playing the Sorna instrument in reverse, which in fact represents the same proverb, and shows that he is doing something wrong from the beginning and playing the instrument in reverse.

Lithography is a method of printing originally based on the immiscibility of oil and water. The printing is from a stone or a metal plate with a smooth surface. It was invented in 1796 by the German author and actor Alois Senefelder, Iranian lithography was imported to Iran in 1845 by Abbas Mirza. Nowadays this art has become a forgotten style.

Iranian lithography is a folk art that I have combined pop art with.
