The Cahuilla Band of Indians is Mountain Cahuilla (Qawishpa Cahuillangnah), one of the original peoples of Southern California. The Mountain Cahuilla have lived in the high mountain valleys and canyons, running up from the Coachella Valley, San Gorgonio Pass, and San Jacinto Mountains region of Southern California since time immemorial.

Cahuilla history in stories and songs tells how the Cahuilla were given these lands as their homeland since the beginning of time by their Creator. The Cahuilla reservation of approximately 20,000 acres of Trust Land was established in 1875 and is located near Anza, California in what is now western Riverside County.

Scenes I pondered over as I defined my Purpose, came to terms with the onset of a Multiple Myeloma, and began thinking about leaving a legacy. These moments brought me great calm, enabling me to focus on what mattered with the uncertainty of time that lay ahead. Not just for me, but for humanity.Multiple Myeloma is tough to live with at times. Fortunately I mastered a number of daily practices that keep my Mind, Body and Soul in peaceful alignment.Regardless of how I may be feeling, I get out onto the land twice a day with my camera and dog Rupert, adventurizing until we’re worn out. Often I’ll set out with some bone pain, or the neuropathy in my feet can make some of the adventures a bit dangerous, but remarkably 90% of the time, I return home feeling healed. This is not imaginary. Bone pain is bone pain. Your support helps keep me alive to continue with my Purpose.
