Bugsy Siegel's Handgun

The Mob Experience is proud to present the only known example of a handgun that was owned by Benjamin Bugsy Siegel.

This gun was acquired from the estate of Mickey Cohen; a close associate of Bugsy Siegel. The Mickey Cohen Estate was purchased from James Smith. James Smith was a close assistant and confidant of Mickey Cohen. James Smith recalls how Mickey Cohen came into possession of the handgun.

In 1947 Bugsy Siegel gave his gun to Mickey Cohen and asked him to hold on to it. This was right before (most likely months) Bugsy Siegel’s assassination. Due to the circumstances, Mickey Cohen kept the gun safe and hidden for decades until his death and our acquisition of the estate of Mickey Cohen from James Smith.
