Whale Rice Bowl is part of Carguin's Genesis NFT Art Series of "Golden Rice Bowl"

The word "rice bowl" is equivalent to one’s job/career; "golden rice bowl" means a great job; "iron rice bowl" means a steady, government job.

When I was a kid, my dad once tore up my sketchbook and told me that art will not earn me any rice. I still remember the torn up drawings vividly, and recreated them in the piece "Manga rice bowl." This collection is my way of healing from that trauma and acknowledging those who’ve had their career choices in art denied. The different styles represent what I do as a concept artist by trade. Creating rice bowls as NFTs allows me to create art as a form of digital money, confronting the age-old question "can art make money?" for parents out there wondering the same for their children.
