For a long time I had thought pride consisted of being filled with feelings of haughtiness and arrogance due to overwhelming self-approval. What I've come to understand though is that pride can also take the shape of being unwilling to learn from other people due to a resolute belief that you are always right. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ What I realized is that in practice both those two characteristics are forms of dogma, and holding any belief as incontrovertibly true is harmful to obtaining insight and growth. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ With health comes a sort of plasticity and flexibility that allows us to learn from both our friends and our enemies. I hope we can all maintain our ability to expand our minds and grow, particularly me cuz I'm the one that has to write captions. God bless ✌️
