Originally illustrated as a cover for a Comic-Con exclusive collection of the Harvey Award, Eisner Award, Comicdom award nominated (whew, that's becoming a mouthful) dark humor, cult favorite , my very own- Arsenic Lullaby.

Here for your owning is the original, un-cropped and un- marred by logos (an important note in the case of this illustration...I'll explain that in a minute).

It's an Iconic image of the series, Voodoo Joe and his zombie fetus henchmen ( starting on his shoulder and going counter clockwise- Ike, Hayes, and Grant).

I mentioned the cropping and covering with logos that is a necessary evil, in this case in particular, was an aggravating thing to have to do to it. Y'see...that burning cigarette in the ashtray, that's not just an afterthought. The smoke trail is there to lead the observers eye back towards the henchman on Joe's right. AND...you see the cigarette is half smoked and still smoking, and Joe's is half smoked and still smoking. Which shows, to the keen observer, that it's not Joe's, that the henchman was also smoking. Which I found to be hilarious when I was drawing it (admittedly I was very tired and stressed out).

But to fit the dimensions of a comic book with logos and such, the smoke trail had to get left off.

Tragic I tell you. But it is here in it's original glory as it was meant to be.

Drawing was done old school, inking was done by hand with a brush, digitally colored.
