LCD 1 is a device for ASCII art. It is hardware and software as a single entity.
A real-time generative program, optimised for high contrast monochrome liquid crystal displays, runs on it creating animated text compositions.
The token allows its owner to request the physical device associated with it. Once claimed the state of the token will change from ‘unclaimed’ to ‘claimed’, this state can’t be reversed.
The asset associated with the token acts as a real-time terminal and it can stream the visual content of the physical device to a computer screen; the device connects to it with an USB-C cable and the data is transmitted through the serial port.
Note: it may not always be possible to access the serial port if the media is displayed in an inline frame (iframe); opening the original file in a dedicated window may overcome this limitation.
