Over my career I've intentionally worked on pieces that push the limits of my technical abilities and give me creative freedom to pursue my ideas to their full extent. These pieces have very special significance to me personally, I only ever release a single print of them available to collectors, it is sent to them signed and numbered, a completely unique print. I will sometimes choose to have a print of that made for my own personal collection, that is signed and labeled as a personal print, not part of the 1/1 collection.
This piece is made from 6+ photographs, blended and digitally painted, there is approximately 2 months worth of work in this one piece. The main photograph was taken of a windmill on the road out to to a small country town called Goomalling in Western Australia on a very foggy morning. The rest of the textures are photographs from around the area.
I recently spoke to the collector of the only print of this piece, who paid quite a significant amount for the signed and numbered print of it back in 2012. I asked if I could mint this piece as a 1/1 NFT under my own name, proving provenance of it. They gave me permission under a few conditions, it must be a 1/1, it must be priced accordingly and the collector of the NFT can claim a signed print of it, but numbered as a 1/1 NFT and not to be an extension of the original 1/1 print.
This piece is a hugely personal piece that I've put on display in many exhibitions, it has also won every award I've ever entered it into. Every time it is on display I am presented with offers for my personal print of it, so far none of them have been high enough to part with the print of it.
