Painting has always seemed to me like a form of introspection - a way of internalising the world and the way we perceive it. It is an interpretation. With photography, despite all the planning, the technical aspects and the equipment, there is always a gap between what we have in our mind and what is captured by the lens. This frustration is intrinsic to my work. So, with my montages and my juxtapositions, I integrate the spontaneity of photographs into a world and setting of my own creation.
