The David Gamble Photography Collection

David Gamble is a multidisciplinary artist from London, now based in New Orleans, LA. Gamble has photographed illustrious figures such as Stephen Hawking, Margret Thatcher, and the Dalai Lama. Several of his portraits are included in the permanent collections of the National Portrait Gallery in London & the Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery in Washington, DC.

In 1987, Gamble won the Kodak Award for Best Photographer in Europe, and a World Press Photo Award in 1988 for his portrait of Stephen Hawking, which was used as the 1st. ed. cover of "A Brief History of Time." In 1989 he was given The American Photography Award. Gamble is widely known for his photos of Andy Warhol's NYC apartment, and has works in the collection of The Warhol Museum in PA.
