ABOUT THE GREEN MAN

As the stoic, mouthless observer, The Green Man's eyes reference the practice of looking "at" as a means of capture and ownership. But in his silence he is unable to judge and define what he sees. What was meant to be captured remains free and wild. Unable to interfere in the purity of creation, awe settles in, and his eyes remain open, from moment to moment. 

In a contemporary sense, the cameras for eyes reference the psychic connectivity between people as social media causes us to think of and focus on others at distance with increasing intensity and frequency. The exercising of this psychic muscle causes a heightened awareness of others. A seemingly dormant biological technology awakens and a new human capability emerges.
