Speeding Mountainside

In my Speeding Mountainside series I make use of digital manipulation, a glitch effect if you will, to reflect on the brief and neglected relationship we have with our environment. All the images were taken in and and around my hometown of Tulbagh in South Africa. Although they comment on the relationship we have with our environment, the images also convey something of our own inner landscapes, because I’m not only intrigued by our connection with the environment, I also want the photographs to allude to intangible subjects like melancholy, loneliness and introspection.
