Sara Hurley is a British-Iranian artist currently based in Vancouver, British Columbia, on the traditional territory of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh, xʷməθkʷəy̓əm and səlilwətaɬ nations. She holds a BFA from Tehran University and a Masters of Art and Space from Kingston University london. During her masters she became increasingly interested in the relationships between the fine arts and the public. Since 2016 She has been drawing spectators within galleries and museums, where the artwork takes a backstep in order to highlight the spectator itself, an emphatic representation of the importance of the audience and their perception of art.

Sara’s move to British Columbia sparked her interest in nature, resulting in a certain amalgamation of the ever-present persona of art spectator in her work, with the subject of nature, by taking depictions of spectators and placing them within the natural world in an attempt to spark discourse about the climate crisis.
