The American Vacation Collection

My 1970's childhood summers were spent in the stuffy backseat of my dad's Buick Century driving across the USA from Seattle to family in rural Oklahoma where my folks grew up, then onwards to the American Southwest before Santa Fe became a car name.

He often played Willie Nelson and smoked a cigar with outside Western landscapes flying by.

We visited art galleries at remote dusty Indian Reservations in the Southwest, climbed rock formations in National Parks like Arches, stayed in 1970 era Motel 6's, had square ice cream scoops in Green River, Utah and ate at a few roadside Sambo's and Denny's along the way.

It was beautiful, sometimes eventful and always interesting.

This collection is a visual memory of that experience for me in miniature form, a medium I've worked in for many years. I also like to keep things humorous representing the many odd places we came across.

Thanks for visiting! Cheers.. Rob
