What happens when something is so modern, it’s ancient? In "Primitative," Chae Tongyull returns once more to the fractured forms of Picasso—but this time, he goes deeper. Much deeper. Like Picasso with African masks, this 48-piece collection draws from the so-called “primitive” Etruscan ceramics that inspired him, reclaiming the circular compositions, bold pigments, and symbolic balance that modernism once borrowed without credit. Where Picasso labeled it primitive, Chae calls it primitative—a fusion of imitation and origin, remix and return. Building on earlier Orangehare drops like "Tracing Picasso" and "After Picasso," these original works by Chae Tongyull were created using ceramic and paint and brought to life using Orangehare in-house production techniques.
