Do you ever feel the presence of the Moon? Across each of the 174 unique works, “Phases of Return” hides lunar cycles in plain sight. Waxing, waning, eclipsing—each composition conceals the shifting moon in the curves of profiles and hats, the split of light and shadow, the quiet geometry of the unseen. Faces meet and part like celestial bodies crossing in orbit, caught between recognition and mystery. Drawing from Chae Tongyull’s medieval series as a foundation, this Orangehare in-house production evokes an older, more medieval understanding of the self and the other. Can you spot the lunar cycle in each piece? Designed and brought to life through Orangehare’s in-house production process.
