Maramures, an area so remote that the Romans never conquered it.
Yet, just three decades after the fall of communism, modernity is finally overcoming their centuries-old traditions, with this project I would like to tell and preserve the stories of the people who grew up here and now live alone and isolated from the world despite the arrival of technology. .
The new generations of young people have decided to abandon these remote areas to run in large inhabited centers (such as Cluj), leaving behind those rites that have been handed down for generations where life still follows the ancient rhythm of the seasons.
With my fujifilm x-pro3 I would like to tell and document a faded piece of history that is slowly disappearing, through people's smiles, the wisdom of a different way of life, a true harmony and balance that our time has forgotten.
