I started shooting only film 5 years ago. during this time, I found my vision. I found myself getting excited over earth tones. Those browns, greens, golds, blues, and all there is out there made me swoon. So, I focused on making that the hallmark of my style. Shooting film made me love my color even more. Growing up a person of color I felt a lot of confusion and contempt for my skin. society taught us whether it be overtly or covertly that the color brown was ugly, a negative thing, or an eye sore. This is NOT the case. the color brown is everywhere. Just walk outside and look into the distance. I promise you'll see all shades of brown. From the dirt, to the trees, to the very people in your city. Brown is beautiful. This is my way of showing that beauty. My beauty. My brown waltz.
