Ana María Caballero is a multiple award-winning, transdisciplinary artist. Her work explores the tension between physicality and selfhood, between biological processes and their cultural implications, and between ecology and the storylines we construct to explain (and thus attempt to contain) them.
The speakers in her poems find their voice by navigating the intellectual and the everyday, daring to name what’s left unsaid in that all-important space of home.
Her poems are moments of private rebellion, made public.

OpenSea (in partnership with Art Basel) commissioned Ana María Caballero to create In Record Time to commemorate the launch of Zero 10, the fair’s new digital sector. At the core of the collection is Training Data, a poem in which Caballero situates a historic moment within her own story.
Caballero invited various artists to hand-annotate Training Data, engaging in an act of analog generativity—the notion that readers and writers construct each other in an endlessly procreative exchange. The coexistence of analog marginalia and digital presentation reflects how memory is presently archived, through experience and code.
