Tomasz GÓRNICKI -  DECAY

The DECAY series is a collection of 33 unique objects inspired by emotions associated with the inevitable process of passing away. The artist created a clay sculpture as his self-portrait and then during process of disintegration it was immortalized in the form of three digital models representing the successive stages of decay.

Tomasz Górnicki, the Artist: “The Decay project is very intimate and refers to my personal experiences. I built it on the principle of contrast, showing a material object, the body, my self-portrait, which transforms into an intangible, virtual mask suspended in time and space.”

DECAY consists of 11 series of 3 objects, where each series is dedicated to a given material, such as marble, gold or lava. Each time creating a separate, unique triptych.
