In late February 2016 I was fortunate to be able to do a trip to Antartica's Western Peninsula. Antarctica has a profound effect on Earth's climate and ocean systems and it made me more  aware of our planet and it affected me deeply as  it felt  like another world, full of incredible beauty and wonder painted in shades of whites and blues and occasional algae greens

Most of these images were captured one afternoon in Pleneau Bay, commonly known as the iceberg graveyard. The bay is rich in the most majestic and ancient ice formations. Icebergs are pushed north by the polar currents, eventually flowing into this bay where they are churned and weather  till they disappear.

What a display nature put on for us this afternoon, with perfect conditions to capture the beauty and majesty. The feeling is very humbling and blessed, we all had a minutes silence to appreciate this special and magical place. I do hope that these images capture some of the timeless beauty of Antarctica.
