AMERICAN WATERCOLOR #LOS ANGELES
Watercolor is like a developing photograph, it slowly reveals itself. As it dries, the paper becomes tighter, the colour stabilizes and becomes different. What seemed to be smooth and transparent in the wet environment becomes unstable in a delirious contrast. I paint in the evening, and leave it to dry until the next day. Overnight, a transfiguration takes place, the image changes, a subtle nocturnal demiurge that changes water into wine, color into intoxication.
